SPSS Statistics

Note: Beware of additional instructions for macOS Sonoma due to incompatibility

Before you begin

To use SPSS you will have to be on campus and connected to the colleges wifi, or be connected to our VPN. Go here to install our VPN first.

SPSS Statistics is only available for Windows and macOS. Chromebooks and Chrome OS are not supported.

The current version of SPSS Statistics is version 29. 

How to install SPSS Statistics 29

Download SPSS:

  1. Run the installer file you downloaded above and go through the installation.
  2. Run SPSS Statistics. Windows has the option to start when installation is complete. Mac opens the folder with SPSS when the installation is nearing the end.
  3. Choose «Launch License Wizard».
  4. Proceed to the next page and choose «Concurrent user license».
  5. Paste or type the following IP into the field: 172.16.5.221
    1. NB! You must be on the school network or connected with a VPN to connect to the license server.
  6. On the next page, a number of features will be listed along with when the license will expire.
  7. You may be told that "No license exists [...]". In this case, select "Exit" and restart SPSS.
  8. SPSS is now ready.

How to run SPSS

Windows: You can find the IBM SPSS Statistics shortcut on your desktop and in the Start menu in the IBM SPSS Statistics folder.

Mac: You can find SPSS Statistics in the Launchpad and in the Applications folder in the Finder, under IBM SPSS Statistics.
