Osteopathy as a health profession

Osteopathy is based on scientific and clinical subjects. An osteopath examines and treats using the biopsychosocial model and starts from the premise that good health is not just the absence of disease, but also a well-functioning musculoskeletal system. Through osteopathy treatment, one wants to promote the body's ability to help itself. The treatment is safe and individualized.

The osteopath will work with you to create a plan for your treatments, and tell you what you can expect and what you yourself must take responsibility for.

Initial consultation: 90 min

Follow-up consultation: 45 min

You can expect high-quality treatment, where your needs are central.

The treatment offer

We treat acute and long-term ailments / discomfort, but can also help with preventive measures. You can expect an individual conversation, examination, treatment and advice aimed at your needs.

The students themselves are responsible for the consultations, but always have an experienced supervisor available.

You do not need a referral from a doctor.

The summer clinic has its own prices.

Cancellation must be made no later than 10:00 on the working day before the treatment is to take place, otherwise the hour will be charged in full.

The clinic with a waiting room is on the 3rd floor of the same building. We have a lift.

Your rights as a patient

We comply with a number of laws and regulations that safeguard your patient rights. Our students must agree to comply with this legislation before starting their clinical practice period.

Below is an overview of the most relevant provisions for you as a patient at the Student Clinic belonging to the Department of Health Sciences.

Sikkerthet, behandling og klager

Students in practice must practice in accordance with the applicable legislation.

All matters concerning clients / patients are confidential cf. Sections 21 to 25 of the Health Personnel Act and the Act on alternative treatment of illness etc. §4.
We register, process and store personal data about patients in accordance with the Patient Records Act, the Personal Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Personal Data Act, the Health Personnel Act.

The information is stored in an electronic patient record. It contains name, date of birth and contact information, as well as information about diagnosis, course of illness, treatment, what information has been given and other conditions that may be of importance.

Everyone who has access to your personal information and patient records is subject to a duty of confidentiality.

Students' access to the journal program is limited to the weeks they have practice.

The release of medical records requires a signed consent form from the client/patient.

Journals must be kept until it is no longer assumed that they will be used. When this is no longer the case, as a general rule the records must be shredded in a safe manner. Normally this is 10 years.

The clinic is operated in accordance with relevant legislation and with professionally qualified staff, where patient safety is continuously assessed. If you have experienced something deficient or objectionable at the Student Clinic, we would like you to report it so that we can correct the deviations. The complaint is dealt with by program managers within the various disciplines.
