Guidelines for Infection protection when visiting the campus

The guidelines on infection protection at Kristiania University College and Kristiania Professional College are designed help ensure safe operations during the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. The guidelines are valid from their date of publication on 20.04.2020, and they will be updated as and when required.

When should you not meet on campus?

When assessing whether you can come on campus or wondering if you may be infected with Covid-19, the following applies:

If you have symptoms of respiratory illness, you need to stay home. Respiratory diseases can include cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, fever, cough or wheezing.
If you have any of these symptoms, you should be tested for Covid-19.

On campus, there are many people and at times challenging to keep at least one meter distance. Therefore, many people may be quarantined if a student or employee is diagnosed with Covid-19.

We recommend that you be extra careful and stay away from campus if you:

Have been in situations (such as parties with many participants, etc.) that make you have an increased risk of infection.
Been in close contact with someone who is waiting to complete a Korona test or waiting for a test result. Do not meet on campus until the person has received a negative test result.
Been in close contact with someone who has received a positive test result. In that case, you must be tested and wait to arrive on campus until you have received a negative test result.
Have proven or probable Covid-19, in which case you should be in isolation and keep a distance from those you live with. Those you live with should be tested.
Is in close contact with someone with a proven infection or if you have been traveling in red countries, then you will be quarantined for 10 days.

Are you infected or quarantined?

We request that students register here if they are infected or quarantined. If you have already signed up for the form, we ask that you send an update on your condition if necessary to: corona-update-students@kristiania.no

We ask students to kindly register here if infected, or home in a quarantine.

What do you do if you get symptoms or suspect infection?

Everyone who has been in a situation with an increased risk of infection, i.e. larger gatherings and travel abroad, must be extra aware of symptoms and take precautions to reduce the risk of infection. If you are in doubt or have symptoms, contact your healthcare provider to be tested.

If you get symptoms of a respiratory infection you should:

Stay at home – do not show up on campus until:

The symptoms are gone
Or you have been tested for Covid-19 and got a negative result.
In the event of a positive test result, we ask that you notify the college as described above.
If you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, you should also be tested, you must wait to show up on campus until you have received a negative test.

Here's how to get tested in Oslo:

Call your GP if you should be tested. If you have symptoms and your GP is not available, or you do not have a GP in Oslo, you can call the corona telephone.

Information regarding exchange programs autumn 2020

Kristiania University College has decided to cancel all incoming and outgoing exchange outside of Europe for the autumn semester of 2020.

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly discourages all non-essential travel, to all countries. At the same time, the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration are not processing any visa applications. These policies are as of now in effect indefinitely. An exchange to or from Kristiania University College to our non-European partners is a lengthy process, particularly regarding visa applications, and often involves considerable expense and some uncertainty. Many Norwegian higher education institutions have therefore wholly or partially cancelled incoming and outgoing exchanges for the autumn semester of 2020.

Bearing in mind the responsibility Kristiania University College has for the health and well-being of our incoming and outgoing exchange students, we have concluded that we must unfortunately cancel all incoming and outgoing exchanges outside of Europe for the autumn term of 2020.
